Tell us the story of spotixx: What do you do exactly and how did you find your way to it?
A couple of years ago, Stefan, my Co-Founder, and I, were working in quite normal jobs. I was working for a software vendor, trying to sell software to Stefan who at the time was freelancing at a large German bank. After a few meetings we got together and spoke personally and he said: “Hey, why don’t we do, whatever you're doing right now, together? I think we can build something better together.” That seemed to be a good idea, and we started off in 2019. Now in 2025 – so five and a half years later, we are 55 people in Frankfurt and Wilhelmshaven and are successful in the market with the product line we had in mind at the time.

Any exciting news or projects to share with us?
Yeah! Out there, the fraud volume has increased dramatically. The ECB is talking about an “era of fraud epidemic”. With the rise of new payment technologies like instant payment or cryptocurrencies, fraudsters have more opportunities than ever. And that's where spotixx comes in. Our mission is to leverage the latest AI technologies to empower banks in their daily fight against fraud, protecting each and every one of us of becoming a fraud victim. We turn complex financial data into clear, decisive actions, enabling banks to stay ahead of fraudsters.  This important job motivates each and every one of us every day.

Nicholas Goodall, Business Lead AML

I'd like to introduce safe AML, a project that we're working on with the top four banks in Germany. It's about sharing data to fight money laundering. Criminals love to open up many accounts at different banks and then move their money around these accounts. With safeAML, we can get the banks to start talking to each other. We can look and see which way the money takes, and which accounts are connected. That means we can tighten the net around these fraudsters and reveal their structures. This will have a big impact on organized crime. So exciting!

What led you to join TechQuartier?
For me TechQuartier is a hotspot for meeting the thriving fintech industry. There's a number of great events here where you can network and meet the inspiring founders and also interesting established companies. As a community member, I can say that the atmosphere here is always vibrant and inspiring. It is so good to be surrounded by like-minded, innovative individuals who create such a dynamic and collaborative environment. Since spotixx joined TechQuartier, we have been more present in the office and really enjoy our time together much more.
