TechQuartier played a pivotal role in two significant research projects, safeFBDC and EuroDaT, both focused on advancing secure data exchange and data sovereignty in the financial sector.

From 2021 to 2023, TechQuartier was the consortium leader for safeFBDC, an initiative aimed at developing secure infrastructures and organizational concepts for data exchange across financial institutions and third parties. Our leadership was instrumental in connecting key partners, managing the overall project, and contributing to AI-supported applications, such as anti-money laundering and market manipulation detection. The project, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, involved ten core partners and over twenty associated partners.

In parallel, TechQuartier also participated in the EuroDaT project (2022-2023), which focused on establishing the first European data trustee under the Gaia-X initiative. Leveraging our experience from safeFBDC, we contributed to EuroDaT by identifying synergies, building the ecosystem, and supporting use cases, particularly for startups and SMEs. Our involvement underscored our commitment to fostering innovation and secure data practices across the European financial landscape.
