We are pleased to welcome wealthAPI to the TechQuartier community and to the Tech & Data Lab Frankfurt.

Headquartered in Berlin, wealthAPI brings expertise in Open Finance, financial data infrastructure and AI-enabled financial services to Frankfurt’s growing FinTech ecosystem.

For us, their involvement also reflects a broader development: Frankfurt is the place for technology companies that want to work more closely with banks, financial institutions and other key players in the financial sector.

Connecting FinTech innovation with the financial center

wealthAPI provides infrastructure that enables financial institutions to aggregate, structure and use financial data across different sources and asset classes.

By joining our community, wealthAPI - regulated as AISP by BaFin - gains direct access to Frankfurt’s financial ecosystem, including Deutsche Bundesbank, while contributing its own expertise in Open Finance, financial data and digital financial services.

This connection becomes especially tangible through the Tech & Data Lab Frankfurt, where wealthAPI is contributing concrete use cases and synthetic datasets for testing.

Through the Tech & Data Lab, we provide financial institutions and technology companies with a secure environment to explore new solutions under realistic conditions, without immediately having to launch complex and lengthy pilot projects.

For wealthAPI, this means that banks can test specific use cases, assess their value and better understand implementation requirements before moving toward a full rollout.

As André Rabenstein, wealthAPI CEO explains:

"For banks, it is often difficult to test new use cases with real customers without setting up lengthy pilot projects. At the Tech & Data Lab, wealthAPI can present specific use cases and work with banks to test them. Thus, whether a solution works, what value it delivers, and what it costs can be determined in weeks rather than years. wealthAPI provides both the real-life use cases as well as the synthetic data sets, which significantly increases the probability of a successful test and therefore enables a quick product rollout in the real world."

Community in Practice

In early September, we moderated a panel at wealthAPI’s the Handelsblatt Bankengipfel.

Our Head of Strategic Partnerships, Philipp Köhler, joined André Rabenstein, CEO of wealthAPI, and Carlo Ulbrich, Founder and Chief Sales Officer at Nect, for a discussion on one of the central questions facing the financial ecosystem: how can banks and FinTechs move beyond pilots and actually scale solutions together?

One of the key takeaways was that innovation does not happen in isolation. Innovation teams can open doors, but long-term adoption depends on strong connections to the business units that own the use case, budget and implementation.

For us, this is exactly where a strong community creates value. By bringing together FinTechs, banks, technology providers and decision-makers, we can help create the relationships and exchange needed to move ideas from first conversations to real business impact.

We’re excited to have wealthAPI in the TechQuartier community and to keep building the connections that bring FinTechs, banks and technology experts closer together while turning good ideas into real collaboration and real impact.
