Ten startups. One shared ambition.
This week, a new cohort of founders kicked off the TQ Accelerator: IMPACT.
From smarter healthcare and more resilient forests to lower-carbon buildings, sustainable packaging and easier access to public benefits, the ten selected startups are tackling a wide range of environmental and social challenges and building businesses around solving them.
Eight of the ten startups are based in Hessen, highlighting the impact-driven innovation emerging across the region.
Led by Luca Kaulbach and Triantafillia Pepe from TechQuartier, the accelerator will accompany the startups from September through November. Across the program, founders will work on topics including impact measurement, sustainable scaling, reporting, communication, investor readiness and pitching, while connecting with mentors, investors and other players from the impact ecosystem.
The batch will head to the IMPACT FESTIVAL in Frankfurt on 25–26 November, where the startups will have the opportunity to present their solutions to the wider impact community.

AI4Hope | Bad Homburg
AI4Hope is a healthtech startup working to make personalized care more accessible by turning continuous data from commercially available wearables into actionable clinical insights.
Its AI-powered platform is designed to help healthcare professionals optimize treatment using real-world evidence — without requiring patients or providers to invest in expensive proprietary hardware. By lowering hardware barriers to telemedicine, AI4Hope aims to enable earlier interventions and improve quality of life for people living with complex chronic conditions.

cosy.green | Frankfurt
Heating existing residential buildings more efficiently does not always have to begin with a full-scale renovation.
cosy.green provides heating optimization solutions for the residential real estate sector, offering property owners an alternative that can be implemented at a fraction of the cost of major building renovation.
Through a subscription model that can be allocated through service charges, the startup aims to create benefits across the equation: lower operating costs for tenants, greater property value for owners and landlords, and reduced CO₂ emissions.

E4RTH | Mainz
What if choosing the more sustainable material didn't mean accepting a higher price?
That is the challenge E4RTH has set out to solve. Founded in Mainz in late 2023, the startup wants to make sustainability economically competitive rather than dependent on regulation or a willingness to pay a green premium.
Its 4PACKAGING solution targets petroleum-based HDPE packaging. Using a patent-protected process that combines virgin and bio-based HDPE, E4RTH is working toward CO₂-neutral packaging at full cost parity.

emulvent | Haiger
Sometimes industrial impact starts with rethinking a process that has changed surprisingly little.
Founded in Haiger in 2026 by Björn Moos and Thilo Schäfer, emulvent® is developing a patent-pending airlift reactor technology that continuously aerates and circulates metalworking fluids used in areas including machining, optics manufacturing and diamond grinding.
The technology is designed to extend the useful life of emulsions while reducing the need for biocides, water and disposal — with the additional aim of creating healthier working environments.
With a patent application filed, an initial distribution partner and a major German industrial group as a reference customer, the founders are now working to bring their technology to a wider industrial market. emulvent is also developing a sensor solution based directly on its passive airlift principle.

formie GmbH | Wiesbaden
Germany's social benefits system can provide meaningful support to families — but understanding and applying for those benefits can be complicated.
Wiesbaden-based GovTech startup formie wants to change that.
Its first focus is Elterngeld, or parental allowance. The formie app guides expectant parents through the application process, helps identify the best possible outcome for their individual circumstances and generates a completed application ready for submission.
The product grew out of a firsthand experience by co-founder Johan Grotkopp, who discovered while having his second child that his parental allowance entitlement could be considerably higher than he had initially expected.
Live since September 2025, formie ultimately wants to create a central platform through which families can access a much broader range of government benefits more easily.

Revoja | Frankfurt
Revoja is working at the intersection of biotechnology and the food industry.
Based in Frankfurt, the startup is developing solutions around solid-state fermentation — a fermentation approach with potential applications in the development and production of more sustainable food ingredients and products.

Scho&Müller GmbH | Schwalbach
Nature has spent billions of years solving problems involving movement, efficiency, structures and materials. Scho&Müller wants engineering teams to learn from those solutions.
The Schwalbach-based engineering firm specializes in biomimetics: translating principles found in nature into engineering and technological applications.
Its goal is to reduce material and resource consumption while improving efficiency. Since 2025, Scho&Müller has focused particularly on medical technology and aerospace, including applications in fluid dynamics and flow engineering.

Wavelr | Cologne
Investing in renewable energy infrastructure involves complex technical, financial and legal information. Wavelr is building an AI-powered platform to make that process more transparent and efficient.
Through its digital marketplace, photovoltaic projects are assessed across technical, economic and legal criteria and presented in a standardized format.
The goal is twofold: give investors better information for evaluating renewable-energy assets while helping project developers reach qualified capital more efficiently.

Waldfreunde | Dreieich
Healthy forests are essential ecosystems — but managing them is becoming increasingly data-intensive as climate risks grow.
Waldfreunde combines hands-on forest protection, restoration, community engagement and environmental education with a growing technology component.
Through TerraX 2.0, which has been under development at ESA BIC Hessen since 2025, Waldfreunde is creating an AI-powered platform that connects satellite, geospatial and environmental data. The technology is designed to identify risks and help forestry professionals make faster, better-informed decisions.
The objective: turn complex environmental data into concrete action and contribute to safer, more resource-efficient and resilient forests.

The TQ Accelerator: IMPACT consists of focused in-person programming covering impact measurement, scaling and reporting, followed by a second block centered on communication, pitching and networking. The program is designed for startups and young scale-ups with scalable business models and a clear environmental or social impact. It also gives participating founders access to experts, mentors, investors and peers from across Hessen's impact ecosystem.
This project is being funded as part in the measure “Projects to increase competitiveness and motivation for start-ups” by the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas.
