Community Member of the Month: Celestical

Meet Red Boumghar, founder of Celestical – a cloud company on a mission to take Europe’s tech infrastructure to the next level, with a little help from space engineers. Celestical is our Community Member of the Month.

What do you do exactly, and how did you find your way to it?

At Celestical, we’ve created a fully independent European cloud infrastructure. Unlike many players in the space, we don’t rely on existing cloud providers – we run on our own servers, which are currently deployed in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris, and Helsinki.

We offer serverless deployments, allowing developers to push their containers to our infrastructure seamlessly. It’s a powerful Platform as a Service (PaaS) designed to give users a sovereign, scalable, and truly European alternative to the dominant US cloud giants.

Any exciting news or projects to share?

Absolutely! We’re currently part of the European Space Agency Business Incubator, which has opened doors to some groundbreaking opportunities.

We’re collaborating on platforms that handle collision prediction in space – an essential capability as more satellites enter orbit. Beyond that, we’re diving into AI, machine learning, and impactful web applications.

Also on the horizon: Station F in Paris. We’re in talks with one of the world’s largest startup ecosystems, which could be a major leap forward for our growth.

What led you to join TechQuartier and what do you like the most about being a community member?

We originally joined TechQuartier because it was an affordable and flexible base to start out. But what we discovered was so much more than a coworking space.

TechQuartier is a living, breathing ecosystem of innovators and companies, and that’s been invaluable. It’s helped us connect with like-minded partners, gather insights, and get real feedback from potential users. The events, the energy, and the community – it’s been an ideal launchpad for Celestical in Frankfurt.

In three words, what are the key topics that spark a good conversation with you?

Tough one! But I’d say: Cloud, Space, Kung Fu.

Okay, okay – if you want to get really nerdy: Linux, space travel physics, and even VI commands are fair game. If you’re into exploring what it takes to bring people into space or just want to chat sysadmin secrets, let’s talk.
