The transformation towards a green mobility of people and goods is only just beginning. Innovative startups with ideas of new modes of transport, business models and services are founded at a rapid pace, eager to enter the market. But how does one succeed in an industry with well established traditional market players, high initial capital investments and at times disabling regulations or policies? Not to mention a needed change in behavior of potential customers?

While the IAA is in town, we gather the mobility transformation’s key stakeholders for an event at Frankfurt’s largest startup hub. Besides an insightful keynote from one of Germany’s leading innovators and investors in mobility startups, we give you the opportunity to talk face to face with public representatives, mobility startups, investors, and startup support organizations.

Take the chance and share how you want to move from A to B in the future. Ask what the biggest challenges for accomplishing this are. Deepen your understanding of how start-ups in the mobility sector have developed and what they, and you, need to do to transform to a green and modern mobility of people and goods.

What is the me convention?

The me Convention is an annual Future Lab where curious minds gather to paint a picture of a desired future world, consider its current state, and look for concrete ideas, tools, solutions that can help bridge the gap in between. The event offers a space to create/develop a vision and strategy for sustainable future growth. The future is no longer an extrapolation of the past. Instead it is volatile and unpredictable. Therefor it requires a different way of thinking to anticipate or even help shape it.
The lab provides an environment that disconnects participants from their everyday normal, to free them from their normal assumptions and the day to day limitations within which they need to work. It opens up their thinking, stretches their horizons, removes limited thinking. The environment will hence create the opportunity to experiment, speculate and fail without consequences.
The program will of course include inspirational talks and engaging discussions, but – more importantly – will invite participants to actively be involved through workshops, mashups, ideation sessions, mentoring sessions, brainstorms, games, prototyping and much more. Also, the me Convention provides room for a diversity of perspectives, constructive criticism and nuance, in order to build an environment where participants consider each other’s ideas and try to combine the best of different worlds into solutions that benefit the greater good.

Laptop&Leibchen Vol. IX: Podcasts – The hidden champion in digital marketing

Podcasts as a media outlet are rapidly gaining mainstream popularity and are experiencing a fresh surge in popularity in Germany. Podcasts are personal, accompanying their consumers everywhere; a third of Germans listen to them regularly. Apart from the entertainment and information value for the listener, the podcast is also interesting as a digital marketing tool for companies. It offers the opportunity to generate relatively simple, interesting and valuable content that is highly relevant for the specific and niche target groups. In this way, new customers from specific segments can be reached, the brand image strengthened and the community expanded. There are many reasons for a business to take a closer look at the podcast phenomenon.

For the ninth edition of Laptop & Leibchen we look forward to welcoming Daniel SprĂĽgel, Founder & Owner of Sports Maniac – THE German-speaking sports business podcast with a focus on digital trends and innovations. In addition to Sports Maniac, Daniel advises brands, media, personalities and sports organisations on their audio strategy and produces podcast formats such as “Mach’s wie ich” (Deutsche Bahn), “Phrasenmäher” (BILD) or “Beyond Victory” (Nico Rosberg). Additionally, we are very happy to welcome THE HR sports reporter and co-host of the famous Eintracht Frankfurt podcast “FuĂźball2000”, Philipp Hofmeister. His live reports have delighted Eintracht fans for years – for example, Philipp Hofmeister turned Luka Jovic into “Luka Torvic” and Haris Seferovic into “Haris Legendärovic”. Recently he was awarded the “Herbert-Zimmermann-Prize”. “Hofmeister’s reports are pure emotion”, the jury explained.

We are looking forward to a discussion with Daniel & Philipp on the following questions:

• Authenticity and credibility of the protagonists play a key role in podcasts – how do you make yourself heard in your target group?
• Reach and monetization – How do I generate followers and subscribers and how can an entertaining podcast become a serious business model?

18:30 – 19:00 Registration & Drinks
19:00 – 19:15 Greeting Eintracht Frankfurt & TechQuartier
19:15 – 20:00 Moderated discussion with Daniel Sprügel & Philipp Hofmeister by Timm Jäger, Eintracht Frankfurt
20:00 – 21:00 Drinks & Networking

*NOTE: This event will be held in German.
